Our featured artists, Keelie, her sister Kamie, and Mom Tiffany, have been making art with CHAP since Keelie was 3 1/2.
We first met Keelie and Tiffany in the hospital, when Keelie was diagnosed with Leukemia. For 2 1/2 years, Keelie + family were in and out of the hospital, often staying in isolation rooms. Through CHAP, Keelie + family were inspired to make friends, create art, and find hope during a very challenging time. Keelie and Tiffany tell us that CHAP days were their "Bright Star’’ days. Today, Keelie is a happy, thriving and active 9 year old!
We are so honored to share their story – and their very special original artwork featured in tonight’s silent auction.

Ingrid Ploem
Title: Stitches
Ingrid Ploem works in stitches. The texture, delicacy and strength of thread has transformed data to visualize and quantify art through healing.
“For me, there is a rhythm of healing in stitching. Each stitch mark in this piece represents a series of numbers. Between each stitch holds the significance of one hundred; 5.209, the number of children in the program engaged through art in the year 2017, 897volunteers moved by CHAP’s mission into creative contribution, 776 outreach experiences, 403 art club experiences, 6.487 hours dedicated by volunteers etc.
Fabric, thread and stitching has a willingness to be transformed in form and texture allowing me to explore the meanings within.”
2 wax paintings on wooden canvases.
18"x24" per piece
