FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need a ticket to attend this event? Yes! Just like an in-person event, we are asking all guests to RSVP so you can stay informed with event information. Click here to RSVP for your free Virtual Ticket.  

Do you offer captions or ASL interpretation in the broadcast? In an effort to make CHAPlandia accessible for everyone, we can offer live captions in English, Spanish and ASL interpretation. Please specify your preference when you RSVP.

How much does it cost to attend this event? This event is FREE! However, guests can choose to financially support CHAP by participating in our online auction by bidding on the amazing auction packages we have, or making a gift online before, during, or after the livestream event. 

How does the online auction work? The entire auction will be held online opening on Friday, October 22 at 12:00 p.m. and closing on Friday, October 29 at 9:00 p.m. You can view each auction package and bid as often and as much as you'd like. If you don't want to bid on items but still want to support CHAP, you will be able to make donations before and during the event through the online auction website. 

What will the program be like during the virtual event? The livestream program will be a celebration of our community and it will be an opportunity for you to support CHAP during this critical time. We will share a powerful message of our impact and celebrate our sponsors. Our event host Johnna Wells will have some great auction packages for you to bid on and a special appeal you can donate to during and after the livestream.

How do I participate in the virtual event? When you RSVP we know that you will join us for the virtual event. Closer to the event, we’ll invite you to register as a bidder and keep you informed on exciting event details. 

How do I watch the livestream event? The week of the event we will post a link here to view the livestream. We recommend you tune in with 2 devices (computer/tablet and mobile phone) or open 2 tabs on your computer. This will allow you to watch the livestream and bid and give in the mobile bidding platform during the event.  

How can I purchase an auction item? 

  1. Register for online bidding when the online auction opens.
  2. Participate in the online auction opening on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 12:00pm and bid on incredible packages. 
  3. Join us for the livestream event on Friday, October 29, 2021 to give a donation during the livestream broadcast.

If I win an online auction package, how do I pick-up that package? You will be notified by email if you win an auction package in the online auction. Packages can be delivered to homes within the greater Portland area, or arranged for pick up at CHAP. Shipment can be arranged for any winning bidders located outside of the Portland metro area. The winning bidder is responsible for shipping costs of physical items.

Each restaurant partner has generously pledged to donate 15% of the revenue from your order back to CHAP to help support the children and families we serve. Please order directly from the venue of your choice, based on the guidelines provided below.

Belle Pomme is a woman-owned, plant-based café in Portland’s West End district offering your choice of 1) a fixed menu of salad, pesto pasta, and dessert for $30 each or 2) items from their menu. Click the Order Online dropdown for the CHAP-only dinner plus all menu items. Place orders by October 26th. Pick-up only. If parking is tight, Whole Foods (across the street) validates with a $10 purchase. 15% of CHAPlandia food order sales for the evening of 10/29 will be donated back to CHAP.

DeNicola's Authentic Italian Restaurant: Patterned after the small neighborhood eateries in New York, DeNicola's Authentic Italian Restaurant has been serving up thin and thick crust pizzas as well as traditional Italian dishes for 43 years. Pick-up only. Call 503-239-5221 to order and mention CHAP. 15% of CHAPlandia food order sales for the evening of 10/29 will be donated back to CHAP.

Rocio's offers a fresh and innovative take on Mexican comfort food. Third-party delivery or pick-up. Orders must be placed on event day before 6pm (no pre-orders available). Include "CHAP" after your name when you place your order. If Rocio's reaches capacity that evening, the ordering platform will immediately notify you so you can order elsewhere. 15% of CHAPlandia food order sales for the evening of 10/29 will be donated back to CHAP.
